Our Mission

The Crockett Public Library serves Crockett Texas and Houston County as an educational center with a desire to support and expand individual lifelong learning, to supplement the resources of local education providers and to provide a genealogical research center for Houston County. Welcome to the Crockett Public Library

The Director and staff at Crockett Public Library would like to welcome you to come visit us and see what your public library has to offer. We have many resources available for children and adults including our extensive genealogical records, book collections, audio books, yoga classes, computers, reading programs, and much more.

Library cards are FREE to Houston County residents.

FREE Computer Access

Filtered internet access. FREE Wi-Fi. Persons under 18 must have a library card to use internet computers.

Children's Place

Children’s Place offers a warm and friendly atmosphere full of books and resources for young readers up to age 10. An early literacy station is available with computers loaded with fun games to stimulate creative learning adventures.

Genealogical Records

We have a vast collection of books and other records for Houston County. Although we specialize in Houston County research, we also have many volumes about Texas with sections devoted to information about many counties in the state. We also have tools to help you get started in genealogical research.

Saturday 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

If a holiday falls on a Monday we will be closed the preceding Saturday.
