Bringing Arts, Entertainment & Education to Crockett
The Piney Woods Fine Arts Association is a cultural gem nestled in the pine trees of East Texas. Founded in 1991, they are dedicated to the promotion and awareness of performing and visual arts to enrich the lives of all the people of Houston County and the surrounding areas. The PWFAA mission is to provide a consistently high level of entertainment and education in the arts to the schools and communities of Houston and surrounding counties, promoting cultural awareness and understanding. Several programs are selected each year to further these goals.
With the assistance of Piney Woods Fine Arts Association, the Civic Center today is now a professional performing arts center and event venue for use by all in Crockett and Houston County. In addition to bringing world-class performances to the area, PWFAA develops Arts-in-Education programs which strive to educate, enrich and entertain the schoolchildren of East Texas through exposure to the visual and performing arts.
